Bacon Crust Pizza {How to Weave}

Bacon Crust Pizza 3

I don’t really even feel a need to justify or explain this recipe.  It’s bacon.  A lot of it.  Weaved together in a beautiful deliciousness for your pizza dreams.

I smoked the bacon for about 30 minutes, but you could also accomplish this quicker by setting up your grill for direct cooking and spreading the coals thin and evenly to keep the temp low and the bacon safe from burning.

Because that’s all we really care about – not hurting the bacon.  What did bacon ever do to you to deserve burning?  Nothing.  All bacon has ever done is provide you with tasty, fatty yumminess.  So don’t burn it.

We turned ours into a bacon cheeseburger pizza.  Bacon crust, grilled burgers on top, with mozzarella and provel cheeses melted to perfection.  Adults and kids alike loved it.  It was just…ridiculously good.  And a great way to cut down on carbs!  Win-win.

We originally got this idea from our friends over at foodbeast – I don’t know if this is his original idea or if he saw it and had to try it, just like we did.

Bacon.  Crust.  Pizza.  I can’t imagine a happier marriage of ideas creating a better pizza.  Try this very, VERY soon.  I’ll be doing it again.  And again.  And again….
