Turkey Smash Burger with Bacon

This is, like, REALLY close to a healthy meal!  I’m serious.  So, here’s the deal:

1.  I love turkey burgers.
2.  I love smash burgers.
3.  I love Bacon.

So…yea, I combined them all.

Turkey Smash Burger

I know what you’re thinking – Kev, man, it has bacon in it.  It’s not healthy.  I’m here to tell you it IS healthy!  Or…at least, healthier than you think!  If I cook SIX Bacon Turkey Burgers in my cast iron skillet, it doesn’t have as much grease as cooking ONE ground beef burger.  Yep, it’s that much of a difference – even with the bacon.  So…you have to try this.

I ground my bacon using a hand meat grinder.  It’s really cool.  Some mixers have meat grinder attachments you can buy fairly cheap.  I’m betting you can also accomplish the Bacon Turkey Smash Burger by chopping up the raw bacon as small as possible.

Turkey Smash Burger with Sweet Potato Fries

Whatever method you use, you’ll be happy with what the bacon adds to your smash burger.  Put it on this thin crappy healthy bread stuff, add some veggies, and a side of grilled sweet potato fries – and that’s a tasty yet healthy meal.

If you want to leave the bacon out then use this recipe for Smoked Turkey Burgers with Jalapenos and Cheddar and cook them like a smashburger.

Bacon.  Yay.

    1. Trish – they are amazing! We have tried grinding our own turkey tenderloin and we have prepackaged ground. The taste difference between the two is negligible. I think in these particular turkey burgers we used prepackaged ground turkey.

I’m not kidding when I say I think I may have to make these tonight after seeing the pictures again! SOOO good!
