Championship Rib Week

Ribs 4I know what you’re thinking:  How can Extraordinary BBQ, the BEST BBQ blog on the internet, NOT have a rib recipe?  I’ve heard the requests, complaints, frustrations.  Loud and clear.

So why haven’t I posted ribs yet?  Well, honestly, because I didn’t want to share.  Ribs are what my team, SLABS a’ Smokin, made our name on when we won 2nd Place in the Memphis in May World Championship.  We’ve worked harder, cooked more often, tweaked more, than ANY other item on this site or for a competition.  It’s tough to relinquish the secrets that you’ve put so much into.

This recipe and process is constantly evolving.  We’ve changed the rib rub and baste at least a dozen times over the past 5 years.  An addition here, a subtraction there.  The recipes and process I’m sharing this week are what we have used and won with over the past several years.

So why now?  Because I get more questions on how to make good ribs than anything else, and I love helping people get better at making delicious food.  Throughout this week you will get these proven recipes for rib rub, rib baste, and the complete rib cooking process.

A good rib is the ultimate BBQ, and these ribs are extraordinary.
