Cinco de Mayo. “Cinco de Mayo in America is a day of celebration of Mexican culture. It honors the Battle of Puebla.”
I also learned that Americans celebrate Cinco De Mayo way more than Mexico residents. Perhaps because we enjoy their food so much. I mean, who WOULDN’T use whatever excuse they can to eat Mexican?
This year-instead of racking up the bill at your local Mexican eatery/beverage establishment, try making your own! As you can see from our list of recipes, we REALLY enjoy these flavors. If you’re feeling particularly spicy, try our grilled steak burrito or grilled steak fajitas. Both delicious and quick. I highly recommend our mexican steak as well.
If you so desire, you could lighten things up with our fish tacos with black bean and mango sauce. Is it a little chilly outside? Maybe a Mexican Smoked Chicken soup is what you’re craving. Smoked chicken ole is a great tasting authentic dish you could enjoy on this festive day as well. Maybe just do a few appetizers, such as grilled guacamole, or salsa with grilled corn, avocado and cilantro – YUM.
But please DON’T forget your grilled mojito. That makes everyone happy.
Regardless of what you try – enjoy your day and your meal. Cheers!
