Ring in the New Year with BBQ!

Happy New Year SizedIf you’re reading this, then you’re at least considering bbq or grilling for your New Year’s Celebration….or you’re my mom.  So I thought I’d throw a few ideas out there for you.  A quick reference guide to some tasty, smokey New Years Treats!

You’ve got to at least consider wings.  It just seems to fit New Year’s.  And if you’re thinking wings, look no further than one of these two perfectly delicious recipes:  Smoked Buffalo Chicken Wings or our now famous Smoked Honey Bourbon Wings.  Or both.  Duh.  Cause why not?  Just make up a small batch of each sauce, smoke some wings, add some Grilled Chicken Drummies, and give your guests some options.

Another Holiday-ish tasting treat:  Shrimp.  Man do I love shrimp.  If you’re thinking shrimp, you could be lazy and pick up a tray with cocktail sauce at your local grocery store.  I’m sure your guests will be…um…fine.  Your other option, of course, is to light the grill and actually add some flavor.  A delicious option with a kick would be BBQ Cajun Shrimp.  So good.  The other option is to go back to trusty Four Roses Bourbon and prepare our Creamy Bourbon Grilled Shrimp.  Those are just plain sinful – and have an elegant presentation.

Most everyone loves mushrooms.  And if they think they don’t like mushrooms, they’re wrong, and just need to be shown how delicious mushrooms can be.  When all else fails, we turn to bacon.  Bacon is to food as air is to lungs.  So make some BBQ Bacon Wrapped Mushrooms and witness your mushroom loving guests giggle in happiness.  A super simple and tasty alternative would be Ellbee’s Grilled Mushrooms.  And if you want to be slightly more elegant, a winner every time is Smoked Crab Stuffed Mushrooms.  Embrace the fungus.

As for me?  I’m going with sliders.  We’re going to have a Burger Bar with every topping imaginable as everyone feasts on different kids of miniature burgers.  Tasty Turkey Burger sliders, Bacon Smash Burger sliders, and toppings that include grilled mushrooms, onion straws, and the standards.
