Did I just make that up? Yes. Is there any validity to it? No. Did I find any statistics to back me up? Absolutely not.
But is anyone out there really going to argue with me? Hey, I love football as much as the next guy, but c’mon, football has nothin’ on good food. And Super Bowl parties mean one thing and one thing only: Heaping Mounds of Delicious Fatty Food.

Chicken lover? Well then, why not make some delicious homemade Smoked Chicken Wings? Too spicy? I get that. How about some Memphis Nachos with Pulled Chicken on top…and if you don’t have time to smoke a whole chicken, then just buy a rotisserie at your local store. It’ll do nicely. Both of those too messy? Well, you can do a healthy and non-messy Smoked Chicken Sausage in a Blanket.
Don’t feel like chicken? Hey, I have those days too. Nobody loves pork more than me. Well, you’ve come to the right place, because whether you make Memphis Sausage & Cheese, a Smoked Sausage Roll, or Smoked Sausage with Cheese & Crackers, your friends are going to be glad they invited you. Of course you COULD smoke a pork butt the day before and bring that for Nachos or small sandwiches…but only if you want to be the center of attention the entire party.
Veggies? Really? At a Super Bowl party? I can’t say I agree with you, but I’m an obedient servant to your culinary wishes. Why don’t you just make Jalapeno Poppers? They’re classic and delicious. Oh, sorry, I forgot you don’t like spicy. Then make Smoked Stuffed Mushrooms or Bacon Wrapped Mushrooms! Did I mention the bacon? Maybe you’re a dip guy – hey, I am too. Then bring some always delicious Roasted Red Pepper Cheese Dip or Salsa with Grilled Corn, Avocado & Cilantro.
